Tiro
Fireflies.ai & Tiro

Fireflies.ai and Tiro,
what is actually different?

Both record meetings and feed automation. The differences show up in what happens across languages, and in what you can record.

Key differences

Three things that set Tiro apart

01

Interpretation while the meeting is running

In Fireflies, switching a meeting to another language re-transcribes the audio rather than translating the text. Tiro moves speech into 15+ other languages as it is spoken, so people who do not share a language can stay in the same meeting.

02

Outside the meeting room, at the same quality

Tiro captures system audio, so in-person conversations, phone calls, and offline recordings come through at the same quality as video meetings, and the audio and video files stay with the record.

03

Korean, Japanese, and Chinese as the default

Tiro was built around Asian languages rather than added to them: 98% accuracy in typical rooms, above 90% on noisy sites, and abbreviations and loanwords come through intact.

The two services

They look alike. They do different jobs.

Fireflies.ai transcribes more than 100 languages and opens its GraphQL API on the free plan, with webhooks and an official MCP server on top. If you want automation early, it is a serious candidate. Tiro differs on two things: interpretation while the meeting runs, and recording that reaches past the video call.

Different jobs call for different tools

When Fireflies.ai is the better fit

The length of the language list is your first requirement, and you want to wire meetings into your own systems from the free plan. A US-based service and post-meeting language handling are no obstacle for you.

When Tiro is the better fit

You need interpretation while the meeting is running, you record in-person and phone conversations as well as calls, or your data and operations are centered on Korea and Asia.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Fireflies is strong on automation too. What is different about Tiro's?

Both are strong on API, MCP, and webhooks, and Fireflies opens its API earlier, on the free plan. The differences are elsewhere: Tiro records in-person and phone meetings without a bot, interprets 15+ languages during the meeting including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, and is operated with Korea's and Asia's data environment in mind.

Fireflies supports many languages too. How is interpretation different?

Fireflies is strong at transcribing many languages, but switching a meeting to another language re-transcribes the audio rather than translating the text, and Multi-Language Mode writes mixed speech down as spoken. Tiro moves speech into 15+ other languages while the meeting is still running.

Does Tiro connect to a CRM?

Yes, through the API and webhooks, directly to the systems your company actually runs, including internal back offices and custom tools that are not on any pre-set integration list.

Does Tiro send a bot into meetings?

No. Tiro captures system audio directly, so nothing joins the call and nothing appears in the participant list. It covers in-person conversations, phone calls, and offline recordings as well as video meetings.

How does the cost compare?

Fireflies has a free plan and prices paid tiers per seat; Pro is $10 per seat a month billed annually ($18 monthly). Tiro has no perpetual free plan. It starts with a 3-week, 300-minute trial, then bills each person for what they use from $7 a month, gives two months free on annual billing, and includes real-time transcription, live interpretation, and the MCP, API, Webhook, and CLI channels in every paid plan.

How does Tiro handle security?

Tiro is certified to SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, customer data is never used to train AI models, and encryption keys are isolated per customer. Data location, SSO, and audit log requirements are handled case by case.
